| | | | | | | | | BAMBOO The colour of bamboo flooring are both Natural and Carbonated, includes Horizontal and Vertical with UV coating and Aluminium Oxide coating. Bamboo is a new innovation for decorative material which is an extremely fast growing grass on Earth (It takes only 4-6 years for bamboo to reach maturity and when cut, it will grow again and again.) and it takes decades to replace hardwood. Bamboo is Harder than hard Maple and Oak. More stable than most woods as a result of moisture and temperature changes. More durable than any other hardwood flooring, a factory anti-pest process is applied to protect it from termites. It is grown in long stems, then it is than machined down to small 'D' shaped pieces, then it goes through a sewing process that joins the pieces together (rolls are currently only made 2mt wide). Bamboo is environmental friendlier than hardwood. It has it's own Natural Beauty, Elegant and Comfort, bamboo is becoming a very versatile product as it is also used in furniture and floorboards among various other uses. QUALITY of the Bamboo matting / carpet is dictated by the quality of fibers used, The Bamboo is not naturally stain resistant (*our Stain Shield will almost make this product waterproof) but Bamboo can be used in most domestic and some light to medium contract situations. It also has the advantage of being totally anti static. However, castor chair use or areas of heavy footfall do require the added protection of appropriate loose laid mats. LATEX BACKING The only latex used is in the gluing of the Jute backing to itself, thus stops a large majority of dirt filtration & because their is NO pile in Natural Bamboo Floorcoverings, thus the dirt is easily removed with a good quality beater brush type vacuum or simply shake the rug out. UNDERLAYS Play a VERY important factor in the Life of ALL carpets, as excessive underlay/product movement as well as impact abrasion is the major cause of premature wearing. We recommend the use of a minimum 6lb Underlay (70% Jute & 30% Hair) , but their are special underlays & installation methods at the moment that will produce a lot softer under foot felling than the heaviest traditional Hair/Jute (70% Hair & 30% Jute) Underlays, Which are usually required by these Floorcoverings (Talking in terms of LONGEVITY ), As any PROFESSIONAL should know. These Heavy Duty Rubber or Foam underlays will cost you only a few $ per sq metre extra, that small additional cost will give you a more softer and luxurious feel.
